POMEROY–The Garfield Co Museum will return to winter hours on each Friday at 1-4 p.m. beginning November 4. The museum will also open at other times by request. Since this area had “summer weather” through the month of October, the museum experienced a lot of visitors, so decided to extend the summer hours schedule through October. LYONS FERRY–Sixteen Washington and Idaho participates took the challenge of the 9th Annual Swim the Snake fund raiser on Saturday, August 13. The swimmers crossed the river starting at the park ending at the marina. POMEROY––Incumbent Sheriff Drew Hyer received about a hundred more votes than challenger Kurt Miller, and Garfield County voters approved Proposition No. 1 to fund emergency communication systems and facilities, results from the August 2 Primary Election showed. GARFIELD COUNTY–A Lewiston, Idaho, man was injured in a one-vehicle accident three miles east of Pomeroy last Thursday, August 4. Mathias J. Hamilton, 32, was driving a green, two-door 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, which left the roadway, struck a guardrail, then continued down the embankment where it rolled into a culvert at 6:11 p.m. He was reported to have sustained injuries and was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center.
