POMEROY–The traditional Pomeroy Gun Club Sausage shoot is on December 8 this year which is the second Sunday of the month as usual. Since the December 1 is the first Sunday and December 8 is the second, it is just about upon us. The Early date causes some needs for Travis's shop so we will make our Sausage a day early on Thursday December 5, and we will do the packaging on Friday December 6 at the Club. COLTON–Five members of the Pomeroy Gun Club shot all or part of the Western Zone competition at Colton Gun Club over the weekend of July 19-21. The Western Zone has competition between 14 Clubs in the Western United States and Canada. The local Club provides awards along with the Zone collecting scores from each club and providing awards for the top shooters in each event at the 14 sites. POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club members were greeted with beautiful spring weather this past weekend March 16-17 during the final week of the 10-week competition, and the nice conditions resulted in better scores. POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club enjoyed nicer weather and better shooting conditions during week 8 of the Camas Prairie Shoot, and for the most part that was reflected in some good scores this past weekend. POMEROY–Severe winds during the seventh week of Camas Prairie competition plagued Pomeroy Gun Club members once again. This time winds were the area's customary southwest variety and hit shooters from behind rather than right in the face, so targets were a little easier to set for consistency than that of east wind targets of previous weeks. POMEROY–The fifth week of the 10-week Camas Prairie Competition started out well for Pomeroy Gun Club members as the first squad on Sunday enjoyed calm winds and nice conditions. POMEROY– A fairly-stiff east wind caused some erratic target flight preventing gun club shooters from breaking a perfect 25 during week four of the Camas Prairie Association competition. East winds are difficult since the Traps face that direction so shooters have the breeze right in their faces. POMEROY–Week two temperatures in the High 30s seemed like a heat wave to the Pomeroy Gun Club members after the subzero temperatures in week one of the Camas Prairie ten-week competition. POMEROY–After beautiful fall weather, and an early winter that was quite pleasant, "Old Man Winter" reared his head and dealt a subzero blow to the first week of Pomeroy Gun Club's Camas Prairie shoot. POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club will once again be participating in the Camas Prairie 10-week competition with 21 other Clubs around the Pacific Northwest this year. The shoot will start officially on January 13 for Juniors and January 14 for the Senior members and will run for the ten consecutive weeks. POMEROY–A few local Gun Club members brought home some trophies from the Spring Shoot at Culdesac, Idaho over last weekend. Seven members of Pomeroy Gun Club attended the Spring shoot at Culdesac, Idaho Gun Club this past weekend May 6 and 7. They brought home some Trophy Hardware from the shoot. POMEROY–The 2023 League Season concluded for the Pomeroy Gun Club (PGC) on Sunday March 26 with an annual day of shooting games, potluck and barbecue, and the annual business meeting with election of officers. POMEROY–Mother nature dealt the Pomeroy Gun Club members another "blow" during this past weekend's shooting activities at the local range. The blow was gusty winds that affected target flight on both days. Targets can be set on the trap machines in steady winds but when winds gust target flight is unpredictable and problems are created for shooters.
