POMEROY–Week three of the Camas Prairie Trapshooting Association (CPTA) ten week shoot greeted shooters with some breezy cold conditions but did not prevent some shooters from excelling when breaks in the weather occurred. POMEROY–The 2023 Camas Prairie 10-week shoot will begin on January 7 for juniors and January 8 for adults. Traditionally the Camas Prairie 10–week shoot starts on the second Sunday of January each year, but because New Year's Day is Sunday January 1, the 2023 shoot will start with the junior shooters on Saturday, January 7, and the adults on Sunday January 8. POMEROY–The annual Pomeroy Gun Club Sausage Shoot fundraiser will take place at the clubhouse on Sunday December 11 at 8:30 a.m. This event is the Pomeroy Gun Club's biggest fundraiser which will fund our ability to keep shooting the rest of the year at as low in cost as possible. COLTON–Six members of Pomeroy Gun Club participated in the Western Zone shoot July 15-17 hosted by the Colton Gun Club. Bob Koller, Steve and Holly Ledgerwood, Larry Bunch, Buck Geiger, and Terry John all attended and brought Home quite a bit of Trophy Hardware. NEZ PERCE–Four members of Pomeroy Gun Club Steve and Holly Ledgerwood, Jim Adams, and Larry Bunch, participated in the Nez Perce Idaho Father’s Day shoot June 18–19, bringing home some trophies. The Club threw 200 singles targets and Holly Ledgerwood broke a pair of 92s and her score of 184 was good enough for High Lady honors on Saturday. POMEROY–Local Gun Club members culminated their 2022 Winter League season with their Annual Fun Day, potluck barbecue and business meeting along with the annual awards for top Youth and Adult shooters in several categories. WALLA WALLA–Eleven members of the Pomeroy Gun Club participated in all or some of the annual Camas Prairie Shoot at Walla Walla Gun Club over the weekend of March 17–20. It was decent, but slightly breezy, March conditions prevailed most of the event. POMEROY–The fifth week of the Camas Prairie competition brought success to the senior club, but skirted the youths as the Pomeroy Gun Club experienced some quarantining due to COVID. It was a pretty successful competition for club’s senior group during last weekend’s shoot, but the youths’ scores were not on target, so-to-speak, as the club had hoped. POMEROY–The fourth Camas Prairie Telephonic 10-week shoot was a test for local shooters at the Pataha Range. A stiff, cold, easterly wind hampered target flight for everyone and it was reflected in poor scores compared to the week before. POMEROY–The third Camas Prairie 10-week competition was the Lewiston Tribune Telephonic Shoot which proved the best for the shooters in recent History. The competition in the Lewiston Tribune Telephonic Shoot is based on the scores of a minimum number of shooters from the total number of Shooters that compete for the particular Club. From 0-30 shooters each Club needs to submit three scores for a possible total of 75. For 30 to 40 shooters the Club needs to submit four scores that are averaged toward a score of 75. GRANGEVILLE, Idaho–Favorable August weather prevailed for five Pomeroy Gun Club members who travelled here to the two-day shoot on August 28 and 29 which ends the 2021 Target year for registered targets.
