    POMEROY–The Garfield County board of commissioners (BOCC) approved resolutions 2021-20 and 2021-21 which increases the tax levy rate by 1% at the November 22 meeting. Resolution 2021-20 applied to the general levy and increased by $7,872.79 for a total of $801,403.86 to be collected.     POMEROY–The Garfield County board of commissioners (BOCC) signed a letter of support to the Lower Snake River Wind Energy Project at their meeting on November 15. The Lower Snake project is currently accepting application for new green energy projects, as they are required to do by Washington State.     POMEROY–Garfield County Fire District #No. 1 announced the beginning of a Firefighter 1 class at their meeting on November 9. The class will begin on December 6 and continue on Monday nights until March. Volunteers who have successfully completed the class will be eligible for a $1,500 stipend that is financed through a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant.     POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County board of commissioners accepted the ZeroDB bid for design work on the Pataha fiber project at their meeting on November 2. The company was the only bidder and the accepted bid was for $30,000 flat fee, with subsequent work not to exceed $10,000.     POMEROY–The Garfield County board of commissioners (BOCC) announced that gravel road treatment is finished for the winter at their meeting on November 8. The wheat straw liquor solution that has been being placed on the roads for dust abatement and to help the road hold together is no longer soaking into the ground.     POMEROY–Garfield County Auditor McKenzie Lueck performed a logic and accuracy test on the courthouse’s voting tabulation system on October 12. A test matrix was created by a hypothetical election result and test ballots.
