    POMEROY-The Garfield County Planning Commission addressed conflict-of-interest allegations and discussed changes made to the revised alternative energy code at their meeting on Jan. 8. Commission chairwoman Wendi Watson, responding to allegations of conflict of interest, said she wants to be transparent and stated that she has family members who have signed leases with wind energy companies.   • City issued EPA violation for unfinished Lead Service Line Inventory

    POMEROY-The City of Pomeroy has been issued a violation by the Environmental Protection Agency for failure to complete the Lead Service Line Inventory (LSLI) according to the minutes of their Jan. 7 meeting. The LSLI deadline was October 16, 2024. The City is required to issue a public notification informing Pomeroy citizens of the violation every quarter until the inventory is submitted.     POMEROY–Local Gun Club members enjoyed decent conditions on the first week of the 10-week Camas Prairie Trap competition with some decent scores. The club had 32 youth shooters participate, and the top three scores in the 16-yard singles are submitted to the Camas Prairie Association each week.
