  • On the Edge of Common Sense

    Baxter Black|Jan 23, 2020

No doubt most of you in the livestock business have a certain “family affection” for the fast food chains. Particularly those restaurants whose main attraction is the often disguised but still All American hamburger. It also is true that each of us has his own particular favorite. Organizations like the National Restaurant Association have attempted surveys to compare the merits of each burger. Readers, you will be pleased to know that the Coyote Cowboy Co. (me) has conducted its own sur...

  • Hospital Update

    Jan 23, 2020

This week continues the Hospital District’s series addressing common questions and concerns. We know the community is frustrated by the amount of provider turnover and we are too. The number one frustration/difficulty listed by rural hospitals is provider turnover. It happens too often and when it does it creates significant difficulty for our patients. People don’t want to and shouldn’t have to continually establish care with a new provider. We absolutely understand everyone’s desire to be able to see the same provider each time they go to the...

  • A Teen's Take

    KayLee Schmidt|Jan 23, 2020

POMEROY—Love is a complicated thing. Especially when you’re in high school. I hear more about “Oh he’s so cute” than anything else–I think. I don’t understand it. I don’t know if there’s such a thing as you’re meant to be with one person only. I don’t know if I believe that love is anything other than a chemical reaction in our brains. I would like to believe it all, but it’s like Santa for teens and adults. You’re told so many different things and stories; ultimately, you have to figure it out...
