    POMEROY–Quilts of Valor were awarded to Ron Harrison and Sonny Harper by Alice Gwinn and Cindy Klaveano on April 18, 2021. Ron Harrison enlisted in the Airforce in November of 1975 and went into active-duty April 6, 1976. He was sent to Lacklund AFB, San Antonio, Tex., for six weeks of boot camp. He was then assigned and sent to Chanute AFB in Illinois for Tech school as a welder, heat treating, and chemical plating specialist.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Hospital passed a motion to set aside $60,000 for the purchase of ultrasound equipment at their meeting on May 3. They hope to have the equipment available two days a week. An ultrasound technician has expressed interest in working for the Hospital, but no official announcement has been made.     POMEROY–The City Council approved the signing of Ordinance No. 922, vacating a portion of Arlington and Tenth Streets by Mayor Paul Miller at a special meeting May 5. Details about the vacation process were discussed at the City Council meeting prior to taking a vote on the issue.   • Farmer's Market gets OK to use City Park

    POMEROY–The City Council approved the use of the City Park for the Farmer’s Market. Danielle Evans spoke to the Council regarding a Farmer’s Market at the city park. She has been working with the Chamber of Commerce and plans are to have the market open from 4–7 p.m. on days that are still to be determined. Expectations are to have the market run for eight weeks, from mid-June to mid-August, when business usually drops off due to harvest.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Commissioners (BOCC) made a decision to remain in the Behavioral Health Organization (BHO) pool after hearing a discussion over the Criminal Justice Treatment Account, a state fund for criminal justice drug offenses paid to a nine-county pool May 10.
