    POMEROY–The Garfield County board of commissioners (BOCC) announced that Central Ferry bridge will be closed for traffic, accepted a quote for indexing software, and passed resolutions at their meeting on March 27. The bridge at Central Ferry will be closed from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., on Friday, March 31.     POMEROY–The School District here held the awards ceremony for the Pirate boys' basketball team at the Pomeroy Jr/Sr High School elevated seating on March 20. Head coach Brian Wolf gave the Coach's Award to Jayden Slusser for effort and hard work that he has given to the team, as well as "being the ultimate team kid," Coach Wolf said.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Public Health District announced they will place personal hygiene kits in the county, and passed a resolution at their meeting on March 20. Personal hygiene kits, containing items such as shampoo, toothbrushes, and soap, will be made available at locations in Garfield County, particularly focused on emergency situations such as the Food Bank and the Garfield County Memorial Hospital.     POMEROY–The 2023 League Season concluded for the Pomeroy Gun Club (PGC) on Sunday March 26 with an annual day of shooting games, potluck and barbecue, and the annual business meeting with election of officers. There were around 70 adults, youth shooters and family members who attended the festivities. The kids spent time on one trap field playing shooting games like Annie Oakley's and buddy shoots.
