POMEROY–The Pomeroy Spinners honored the legacy of Dick Martin at their 16th annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 8. Martin was part of the five-member group that changed the Jaycees to the Pomeroy Spinners in 1978 and was a faithful member until his recent passing. POMEROY–The Spring Farming Days was delayed due to wet ground at the Garfield County Fairgrounds on April 1 and 2. Recent rains imposed a halt to farming activities in the hay field when deemed too wet to plow on Saturday morning. Horses and mules waited at their trailers or in the horse arenas while the field dried. Plowing began in the afternoon with the horse and mules teams. Farming was finished on Sunday by tractor. POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County commissioners announced the completion of the Pataha fiber project, authorized two expenses, and discussed the preliminary results of fiber study of Garfield County at their meeting on April 4. The Pataha Fiber-to-the-Home project is completed, barring final checks. Richard Ray Martin January 17, 1948–April 2, 2023 Richard "Dick" Ray Martin died Sunday, April 2, at the age of 75. Dick was born in Dayton, Wash., on January 17, 1948, to Donald G.
