    POMEROY–The Garfield County Hospital District Board of Commissioners (GCHD) received a $1 million grant from the United State Department of Agriculture.     POMEROY–The Pomeroy City Council passed Ordinance 925; received federal grant money; holding a public hearing and were advised of booster pump project cost increase at the meeting April 5. The City Council has approved Ordinance 925 which repeals ordinances 672, 675, and 680, as well as creates a new license and control ordinance for animals. Gallina has pleaded guilty to charges of third-degree assault with sexual motivation and fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation stemming from complaints followed by an investigation that resulted in the judge's arrest in April, 2019.     Washington's wolf population saw another significant increase, growing by 16 percent in 2021 according to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).     We can now add the Attorney General’s Office to the list of state officials apparently ignoring the Douglas County Superior Court ruling that unequivocally said the capital gains tax is an unconstitutional income tax, not an excise tax.     As we move into this new spring season, we have some exciting updates to share. The Hospital District received a $1,000,000 grant from the USDA. This combines with a $250,000 grant from The Group Health Foundation and $50,000 from Empire Health/Premera for a total of $1.3 million and the remaining balance will be paid out of current cash reserves.     Wendell Dean Johnson September 27, 1933–April 3, 2022 Dean, as he preferred to be called, passed away April 3, 2022 at Garfield County Memorial Hospital.
