    POMEROY-The Pomeroy City Council granted a conditional use permit, discussed pool staff and passed an ordinance at their meeting on May 10. The conditional use permit was granted to Shelby and Delores Matheny after a public hearing was held. No dissenting opinions were raised against the permit, which allows the Mathenys to us a 2,000 square foot area of city property on 17th Street.     POMEROY–The Garfield County board of commissioners (BOCC) announced an insurance rate increase, a bid opening date for the Garfield County fairgrounds electrical project, and the reception of a certificate of good practice from the County Road Administration Board at its meeting on May 16. It was a Sunday afternoon, and after being let in, I was immediately treated by two nurses, one of whom called the on-call provider, Courtney Travis, ARNP. Courtney was there within a matter of minutes, and the nurse had already started me on a nebulizer to assist with my breathing.     POMEROY-The Garfield County Health District board introduced their new program coordinator, discussed the Summer Market program, and passed several resolutions at their meeting on May 16. Chelsey Eaton has been hired as the District's program coordinator. She is experienced in public health services. A recent acquisition of a beautiful side saddle in excellent condition made in Baker City, Ore., is now on display. Allan Cannon, a collector of tokens, has helped with the collection of tokens.
