POMEROY–Quilt of Valor veteran honoree J. D. Morrow enlisted in the Navy in January, 1971, and went to boot camp training in San Diego, Calif., from June through August, 1971. POMEROY–The Garfield County fair board held a community input meeting to discuss a master plan for fairgrounds improvement at the Dick Brown Building on June 15. The proposed plan would extend the hog barns and create an indoor multipurpose arena north of the animal barns that would include horse stalls along the east side of it. POMEROY–The Garfield County Fire District board of commissioners passed a resolution to hire two part-time emergency medical technicians and discussed progress on the electrical renovation at their meeting on June 14. Camp was provided by the PHS Girls Basketball Team and ran by Head Coach Tai Bye and Assistant Coach, Gena Severson. Jason George Kuhn died in Yakima Wash., at the age of 83 on June 9, 2022. Jason was born on October 18, 1938 in Pomeroy Wash. He graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1956 and went on to attend Washington State University where he graduated in 1962 with a B.S. in Soils Mechanics/Geology.
