POMEROY–The Garfield County Hospital District Commissioners (GCHD) discussed an update to the electrical project, approved a letter of support to the City of Pomeroy, and passed two resolutions at their meeting on Aug 5. POMEROY––The Cougar Creek Fire, located in the Umatilla National Forest primarily in Asotin County and north of the Washington-Oregon border, has topped 24,000 acres since it began July 15 of unknown origin. Ten Years Ago August 20, 2014 For the first time ever, clergy from a Pomeroy church will also serve the congregation of a second church in the city. The Rev. Bob Totten and Deacon Kay Totten moved to Pomeroy at the end of March to take over the pastorship of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. A friend shared that when he was a child his family lived in a large tent on the Columbia Basin prairie, 20 miles north of Pasco.
