    POMEROY–Garfield County will host a free Chipper Day for country residents at the old rock pit located off Gould City-Mayview Road on Saturday, October 5 at 8 a.m.-2 p.m. What can you bring? Clean yard and garden debris, pine needles, leaves, limbs, and small logs (up to 15 inches). Loads that contain a lot of dirt, rocks, root balls or anything over 15 inches in diameter will be turned away.     POMEROY––The Garfield County Auditor's Office Elections Department will be holding its pre-General Election Logic and Accuracy tests on Tuesday, October 8. This activity tests the tabulation equipment prior to the 2024 General Election on November 5, 2024.     Pomeroy's number 99 was called quite a few times by veteran announcer John Gates in last Friday's home game at Lybecker Field as senior Pirate quarterback Jett Slusser tore up the turf with a school-record eight touchdowns in the 68-42 win over Garfield-Palouse.
