POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) signed a Rock Royalty Payment and Quarry Site contract with Tom Schuster for the use of the Schuster rock pit at their meeting on February 28. The contract is for six years. The county will pay 45 cents a ton for aggregate and 60 cents a yard for pit run. POMEROY–A Pomeroy Economic Forum proposed a signage project with an estimated fundraising goal set at $25,000 during the quarterly meeting held at the Pataha Flour Mill on February 22. POMEROY–The Garfield County Health District announced that the county has zero active cases of Covid-19 at the time of their meeting on February 28. The number of people who have been going to the Garfield County Memorial Hospital to be tested has also decreased dramatically. POMEROY–Local Gun Club shooters are holding their own at the eighth week of Camas Prairie Competition. Some may move to a higher placement as other shooters will remain the same. Pomeroy Gun Club members were again hampered by Gusty Winds in week eight of the 10 Week Camas Prairie Competition. Conditions were especially bad for the Youth shooters on Saturday, February 26.
