    Denny Ashby Library recently added a new collection to the Washington Rural Heritage: Garfield County Heritage digital collection. The Baldwin Family collection contains 122 new items preserving the history of one of the county’s early pioneer families. The Denny Ashby Library partnered with Jennifer (Baldwin) Ashby, the director of the Asotin County Library, who upon the passing of her father, Merle Baldwin, inherited her Grandmother Alta Morris Baldwin’s trunk.     POMEROY–Jim Nelson, reporting for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, informed the Garfield County Commissioners (BOCC) of two deputy applicants who will receive conditional offers, pending background checks. The District is working with an architectural firm on designing the addition for the CT scanner, upgrading the electrical infrastructure in the old hospital building, and adding an HVAC system to the hospital side.     Norman Ellsworth Bartlow January 8, 1924–October 29, 2020 Norman Ellsworth (Ells) Bartlow went to be with Jesus on October 29, 2020. He was 96 years old and died in his home of the infirmities of age. Ells was born in Pomeroy, Wash., on January 8, 1924, to Oscar Creighton Bartlow and Martha Doris Fitzsimmons Bartlow.
