    POMEROY–In light of the increased COVID-19 activity in the community, the “Summer Session Athletics” program being offered by the Pomeroy School District has been suspended for two weeks beginning October 26.     POMEROY–Financial good news came to the Garfield County Hospital District Board (GCHD) when Jim Heilsberg, GCHD Chief Financial Officer, presented the 2021 budget at the meeting on November 2, stating it will be much the same as 2020 with one major difference, revenue will be mostly come from tax revenue.     The Garfield County Hospital District (GCHD) is spreading the word on what is happening with COVID-19 testing. The GCHD now has the capability to do 15-minute rapid tests. There are specific guidelines as to who can receive these tests as follows: the person must have active symptoms which have started in the last seven days. If someone does not meet that criteria, they can still have a test, but it will be sent to a lab in Spokane which has a general turn-around of 24-hours.
