    POMEROY-The School District No. 110 student body honored local veterans with a ceremony of songs, poems, a slideshow, a Quilt of Valor presentation, and a surprise return during the ceremony at the High School Gymnasium November 8.   • Broken boiler may close pool in 2024

    POMEROY–The City Council discussed replacing the boiler at the Pomeroy Municipal Pool, held two public hearings, and passed several resolutions at their meeting on November 7. The boiler at the Pomeroy Municipal Pool has broken and a grant application for funding to replace it has been denied. The estimated cost of the boiler is between $60,000 and $70,000.     POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County commissioners passed two resolutions and accepted a preliminary budget, as well as discussed repairs at the Central Ferry boat dock at their meeting on November 7. The Port boat dock at Central Ferry is in need of repairs. Dean was born in St. Louis, Mo., on October 5, 1934. His family moved to Butte, Mont., where his father worked in the Anaconda Copper Mine. Irene was born to Bertha Mallory and Albert Kiesecker at Anatone, Wash., on September 29, 1914.
