    POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) opened bleacher bids, decided to fund the finishing of the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum parking lot project, and passed a modification to resolution 2024-86 at their meeting on May 6. The commissioners opened bids for the grandstand bleachers at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. The apparent low bidder was BSN Sports at $49,066.68, before tax. In November of 2022 a group of Pomeroy parents brought the long-inactive PTO back with a new mission statement and new bylaws.     POMEROY––The infamous sinking of the "unsinkable" RMS Titanic 112 years ago on April 15, 1912, was personal for Pomeroy. Included in the over 1,500 lost at sea was John Bertram "Bert" Brady, a Pomeroy businessman and pioneer, age 41. His body was never recovered. Monuments to Brady are in the Pomeroy City Cemetery and at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif.     POMEROY––A Garfield County resident who made his home in the foothills of the Blue Mountain felt the effects of the loss of Bert Brady his entire life, according to Lillian Heytvelt, Denny Ashby Library director.
