POMEROY–A fire that began on the South Deadman has burned multiple structures, including two residences. A rough estimate has placed the acreage burned between 2,000 and 14,500, according to the Incident Management Team's public information. POMEROY–Fire fighters and neighbors teamed up to save the Hiller Family homestead's structures Saturday, July 27, 2024. The fire cause is undetermined, three structures were threatened of which only one received fire damage. Deadman fire, dubbed the "Dan Fire" GARFIELD COUNTY–A pasture fire was reported at 134 S. Deadman Road about 10 miles from Pomeroy on July 29 at 12:30 p.m. Area County fire districts were asked to assist. POMEROY-The Alvin Landkammer Firework Show blasted through the sky above the Garfield County Fairgrounds on the night of July 5.
