    SUNNYSIDE–Pirate Quarterback Brandon Bales and running back Trent Gwinn were the one-two punch Pomeroy needed for another lop-sided 1B Southeast conference win here Friday. The Pirates manhandled the Knights 66-18, two touchdowns inside of one minute in the half pushing the game into running clock. JOHN–It was a dark and stormy night—at least it was for the St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse Eagles—as the Pomeroy Pirates pounded and slashed their way to a convincing 62-6 1B Southeast eight-main conference win. The Pirates are tied for third with DeSales with 3-2 league records, behind 5-0 Tekoa-Rosalia and 4-0 Lyle/Wishram. JOHN–The Lady Pirates roll into the final few games of the 2019 season this week atop the 1B Southeast league and hovering in the top four in the state after wins here and at Garfield-Palouse last week.     SPRINGDALE–A squeaky-tight, competitive contest was broken open in the fourth quarter when the Pomeroy Pirates–on the legs of quarterback Brandon Bales–rallied with three touchdowns for a 60-38 non-conference win over Mary Walker here Friday, October 11.     TOPPENISH–Pirate ball carriers and pass receivers tallied big numbers in a convincing win over the Yakama Nation Tribal School Eagles here last week as the Bucs scored prolifically for a 62-6 win. Pomeroy is now 1-2 in league play, 1-3 overall.     POMEROY–The Junior High Football team were excited to open the first game of the season, after the Garfield County Fair, at Tekoa-Rosalia at a rescheduled game on September 16. They came out playing hard with a long touchdown pass from Jett Slusser to Walker Flynn on the first from scrimmage. From that point on it was off to the races for the Pirates with Boone Schmidt, Walker Flynn and Ollie Severs making many receptions throughout the game.
