POMEROY–The Pomeroy Spinners hosted the 38th annual St. Patrick's Day broomstick pool tournament at the Maple Hall on March 17 and 18. A total of 55 teams played in the tournament. Ten Years Ago March 27, 2013 Eero Kovero brought his seventh group since 2010 to the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum at the Garfield County Fairgrounds on Sunday. The farmer and tour leader from Finland brought 10 other farmers from the south of that county to Washington state, landing in Seattle on Monday. Ten Years Ago March 13, 2013 Jim McKeirnan brought a one-week-old lamb to Garfield County Memorial Hospital's long-term care wing to the delight of residents and staff alike. Jim said the lamb would lose its black coat and turn white. A number of the residents talked about raising lambs on their ranches, and it was pretty evenly split among staff and residents whether lamb was tasty or not. Since moving to Pomeroy, I have finally had space to create a garden. Over the last few years, I have slowly expanded what I have done. At first, I grew a few crops in various places in the yard.
