POMEROY–The School Board approved the end of required masking for students and personnel as March 21 during the meeting February 22. POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) signed a Rock Royalty Payment and Quarry Site contract with Tom Schuster for the use of the Schuster rock pit at their meeting on February 28. The contract is for six years. The county will pay 45 cents a ton for aggregate and 60 cents a yard for pit run. POMEROY–A Pomeroy Economic Forum proposed a signage project with an estimated fundraising goal set at $25,000 during the quarterly meeting held at the Pataha Flour Mill on February 22. POMEROY–The Garfield County Health District announced that the county has zero active cases of Covid-19 at the time of their meeting on February 28. The number of people who have been going to the Garfield County Memorial Hospital to be tested has also decreased dramatically. Phelps, of Pomeroy, was convicted by jury, after a one-day trial, of Violation of a No Contact Order and Violation of an Anti-Harassment Order, both gross misdemeanor offenses. Ten years ago March 7, 2012 The modernization project at Pomeroy High School has required a lot of creativity in dealing with the inconvenience of completely moving out of the building, including the cafetorium. But kitchen manager Marcia Ruchert perhaps had to utilize the most creativity to provide hungry students breakfast before school and the noon meal, all without the benefit of a kitchen.
