    POMEROY–The third Camas Prairie 10-week competition was the Lewiston Tribune Telephonic Shoot which proved the best for the shooters in recent History. The competition in the Lewiston Tribune Telephonic Shoot is based on the scores of a minimum number of shooters from the total number of Shooters that compete for the particular Club. From 0-30 shooters each Club needs to submit three scores for a possible total of 75. For 30 to 40 shooters the Club needs to submit four scores that are averaged toward a score of 75.     POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club members were blessed with better shooting conditions during the second week of the Camas Prairie Telephonic shoot, and better scores were the result. The Junior shooters posted most of their scores on Saturday January 15. In the 12-year-old and younger Division Carter Barron posted the best singles score with an 18 of 25 effort.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Fire District No.1 board of commissioners announced at their meeting on January 11, that the new fire engine is at the station. The commissioners went on to approved Resolution 2022-02 to bid $41,300 for a water tender. They also voted to approve the bidding process for building a brush truck.     Ten years ago January 18, 2012 The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum (EWAM) to help support the construction of a critically needed building at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. The museum has been preserving the history of agriculture in the northwest since its inception.     May 22, 1926–November 4, 2021 Laurel Helen Feider, 95, passed away at her daughter’s home in Dayton on November 4, 2021. Laurel was born to George W. Bowles and Christle Darland in Pomeroy, Wash., on May 22, 1926. Laurel married Raymond Feider on Novermber 28, 1953; he passed away September 1987.     POMEROY–Wind gusts of up to 50 m.p.h. downed a spruce tree in Julie and Kent Dunkle's High Street home's front yard last Friday afternoon January 7, 2022.     After a snowy December, Washington's snowpack will end the year at 106% of normal. April 1 is the traditional end of the snowpack year, so there are still three more months to get the final numbers. If this trend holds, it would be the 14th time in the last 17 years that snowpack was above normal. Additionally, the snowpack is even better than those numbers indicate.
