    POMEROY–The Garfield County Health District announced the addition of a board member as required by new Foundation of Public Health Services regulations at their monthly meeting on May 24. This addition must be completed by January of 2022. Two resolutions were passed. Resolution 2021-11 removes a task from the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program that has been found unnecessary. Garfield County Fair Board president Sara Lunsford said the breakfast event usually held to raise money for the fair is not going to happen this year and asked the group for other fundraising ideas.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Commissioners (BOCC) opened and read two bids for the hay crop for the Garfield County Fairgrounds at their meeting on May 24.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Fire District No. 1 responded to a fire of a single vehicle heading east on highway 12 at mile post 394 on May 24, 2021 at around 7:30 a.m. The fire was contained to the Concrete Cutting Company A-Core Concrete Specialists truck and did not spread to the grass.     POMEROY–Citing the increasing tendency of campers to overstay their time limits, Garfield County Port Commissioners Ed Crawford, Larry Scoggin, and Matt Herres voted to remove the monthly rate for Pataha Creek RV Park at their meeting on May 18.     OLYMPIA–Secretary of State Kim Wyman is seeking clarification from Thurston County Superior Court about the order in which two acts signed into law simultaneously by Gov. Jay Inslee should be filed. The two acts in question are Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1336 and Second Substitute Senate Bill 5383, both of which were signed simultaneously by the governor on May 13 according to his office.     POMEROY–The City Council approved the use of the City Park for the Farmer’s Market. Danielle Evans spoke to the Council regarding a Farmer’s Market at the city park.
