POMEROY–The Pomeroy School District (PSD) board of directors accepted the resignation of Maureen Scoggin and approved a bid for re-roofing the Elementary school at their meeting on June 27. DAYTON–The Columbia County Health Department received notification from the Washington State Public Health Laboratory of a bat presumed to have rabies on June 28. There was human exposure to this bat. The exposed person is undergoing preventative treatment from a healthcare provider. POMEROY– "Glory Grove" a first novel written by local resident Gary Bye, has received the Benjamin Franklin Silver Award in the Bill Fisher Award for Best First Book (Fiction) category of Independent Book Publishers Association's contest.
