    POMEROY-The Garfield County Hospital District board of commissioners announced the end of the masking requirement, announced a financial transition for the HUGS program, and discussed project dates for their electrical project at their meeting on April 3.     POMEROY–The Garfield County board of commissioners (BOCC) announced that Central Ferry bridge will be closed for traffic, accepted a quote for indexing software, and passed resolutions at their meeting on March 27. The bridge at Central Ferry will be closed from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., on Friday, March 31.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Public Health District announced they will place personal hygiene kits in the county, and passed a resolution at their meeting on March 20. Personal hygiene kits, containing items such as shampoo, toothbrushes, and soap, will be made available at locations in Garfield County, particularly focused on emergency situations such as the Food Bank and the Garfield County Memorial Hospital.     POMEROY–Firefighting units from Garfield County Fire District 1, Columbia County Fire Districts 1, and 3; and Columbia/Walla Walla joint District 2, responded to a barn fire at the Robert and Ruth Yutzy place at 410 Emerson Road here, late Monday morning, March 20, 2023.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Transportation Authority (CTA) signed paperwork from a previous agreement and discussed an in-progress audit at their meeting on March 20. A Washington State Department of Transportation grant amendment, incorporating and extra allocation of $9,823, was discussed at a previous CTA meeting.
