    POMEROY–A 65-year-old Agassiz, B.C., man was injured and transported to a Lewiston hospital following an accident at the Alpowa Summit Saturday, July 9. Lorne J. Knechtel was west bound on State Route 12 when he lost control of the 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding at 5:48 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Kevin B. Highfield.     GARFIELD COUNTY–Motorcyclist, Michael C. Mingin, 69, of Keizer, Ore., dies in a one vehicle, Highway 12 collision Friday evening, June 24, 2022 at approximately 6:52 p.m. The Washington State Patrol reported that Mingin was travelling westbound of Highway 12, at milepost 418, about 14 miles east of Pomeroy, while riding his motorcycle, he changed lanes and left the roadway on the right.
