ST. JOHN–Pomeroy High School’s Cross Country team competed in an event in St. John on October 12 with four Pirate harriers finishing in the aft part of the pack. Competing in the boy’s varsity event, Trevin Walton, a junior, finished 27th out of a field of 45 runners, notching a time of 21:43. Teammate Samuel Lamb, also a junior, trailed Walton by less than a minute and a half, coming in 35th with a time of 23:10. POMEROY–How tournament play will go after the regular volleyball and football seasons has been charted, according to Athletic Director Toddette McGreevy. The Pirates came out slow with some untimely errors in the first half and quickly fell behind by two touchdowns. Last Tuesday, the team heads to Colfax to compete against the same field, then on Saturday, October 9, returns to the LCSC course for the Inland Empire Meet. POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club members enjoyed some success at the Troy-Deary Gun Club's Fourth of July Shoot and the more recent Western Zone Shoot at Colton Gun Club. The Western Zone Shoot is a Satellite Shoot where 14 different Western clubs host competition and all the shooters at those sites compete against each other. PULMAN–The Barracudas swim team touch the edge first in each division with the winning over all score of 723 for the swim meet in there July 15.
