COLTON–Five members of the Pomeroy Gun Club shot all or part of the Western Zone competition at Colton Gun Club over the weekend of July 19-21. The Western Zone has competition between 14 Clubs in the Western United States and Canada. The local Club provides awards along with the Zone collecting scores from each club and providing awards for the top shooters in each event at the 14 sites. POMEROY–The team of John Eaton and Mitch Ruchert took first place in the men's portion of the 18 holes, three format tournament featuring six holes of scramble, six holes of best ball and six holes of alternate shot. POMEROY–The first Pirate Youth Golf Camp was held at Crystal Springs Golf Course for 14 young golfers on Jun 22 and 29. The Youth Golf Camp had 14 2nd-8th grade players who learned basic skills and safety for two hours each day.
