POMEROY–The Drills 4 Skills Sessions (D4S) first practice begins at the Elementary Gymnasium for all students who are able to listen, follow directions and participate on November 20.
Sessions will be split into grade and skill levels. Participants will have the opportunity to adjust their participating level according to development and skill level. Each session will center around developing basic understanding and skills of basketball. As reinforcement, sportsters will practice what they have learned in fun drills.
Sessions are set on Wednesday November 20, 27, December 4, 11, 18 and January 8, Kindergarten-Second grade meet at 6-6:45 p.m., and Third-Eighth grades at 6:50-7:45 p.m.
Sessions set for Saturday are scheduled for December 7, 21 and January 4, Kindergarten-Second grade also meet on Saturdays at 8:30-9:35 a.m. and Third-Eighth grades at 9:45-11 a.m.
The group will then play expedition games during two High School home games during halftime. For those who can attend, the group will play during halftime at two High School games; Pomeroy vs St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse on December 13 and Pomeroy vs Touchet game on January 11.
Players will attend the game free and parents will pay regular admission.
Some simple requirements to participate are to complete and sign D4S registration form prior to participation; D4S members must follow the no running rule in school hallways before, during or after sessions and games; sport members who come early and waiting for their session to begin are ask practice their skills; and there is a need for coaching management help.
