Employee of the month
Garfield County Hospital District is proud to announce January's Employee of the Month, Molly Webb. She was nominated by her co-workers stating "she is great to work with" and has a "how can I help attitude." Molly is originally from the beautiful area of Manson, Wash. where she grew up. Her father, Dave Webb, moved to Pomeroy in 1997 and started his own business, now known as the Lost Highway Museum. Molly began visiting her dad on the weekends at age 15 and fell in love with Pomeroy. While in high school she was employed as a tutor for grade school children and later as an in-home care giver which became her introduction into the medical setting. After graduating Manson High School in 2000, she began working that summer waitressing for a restaurant but realized that the medical field was her passion.
In 2003 she began looking into medical classes and called her dad one day and said" If the little hospital in Pomeroy ever offers CNA classes let me know." His reply, "They're about to start one now, let's see if we can get you in," and she immediately moved to town to enroll. She completed the classes, became a Certified Nursing Assistant and straightaway was offered a position.
After several years, another opportunity arose and Molly was approached to consider becoming a Medical Assistant Phlebotomist and eagerly pursued this challenge. While transitioning into this new position, her skills were quickly recognized and she was offered to simultaneously cross train as a Radiology tech as well. Her highly versatile skill set has made her a great asset to the hospital. While on light duty, she even volunteered for a short time to fill in as a Health Unit Coordinator in Long Term Care.
In her 17 years of employment with Hospital District, Molly has operated in several departments and currently is the purchaser in Central Supply for the hospital and the Pomeroy Medical Clinic. Molly's hard work ethic and devotion as a team player are valued and respected among her co-workers. "She goes out of her way to make sure that all the departments are stocked with what they need, including the clinic." Putting others first, is a distinguishable trait of Molly's and she will drop what she is doing to help others. When asked what she likes best about her position she replied, "I like the people and the residents." Her cheery disposition and upbeat personality are contagious and she always has a warm welcome for the patients, visitors and staff.
Her long-term goal for her career is to serve Garfield County Hospital District to the best of her ability, retire and continue to support the wonderful community of Pomeroy. Please join us in celebrating our newest employee of the month and congratulating Molly on a job well done!
