POMEROY–Pomeroy Partners for Healthy Families will receive $625,000 in funding as one of the 201 awardees of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s Drug Free Communities (DFC) $25 million grant program.
The funding of this highly competitive grant process is $125,000 per year for five years and will fund programs for youth to prevent substance use, keep kids safe, and help every young person reach their full potential.
“Some things we plan to do with these funds,” said Sarah Meyers Pomeroy Partners for Healthy Families Program Director, “is hire another full-time staff person to be more out in the community at community events, start a youth mentoring program partnering with the GCCYP, get more involved with Skate Night, Red Ribbon Week, and National Night Out; get Pomeroy kids more involved in the QBH Summer Youth Program; support the youth coalition with a year-long service project, and more.”
