Pirate XC team finishes season in 4th

POMEROY––The Pirate Cross Country team counted many personal records on its way to a fourth-place finish at the XC Championships held here Wednesday, March 10.

The 3.1-mile course at the Pomeroy Golf Course was covered by Pirate Nick Vendeland in 20:50 for a 10th place finish, and teammate Cash Copher wasn't far behind in 14th place with a time of 21:48. Trevin Walton finished in 16th place with a 21:58 time.

Bringing up the rest of the field was Brady Bott in 21st place with a 23:43 time; Samuel Lamb in 22nd place in 24:09 and Jayden Slusser finishing 25th in 28:55.

In the girls division, Pomeroy's Maya Kowatsch finished in 14th place with a time of 31:16.

Pomeroy Middle School teams both finished in first in the 1.5-mile competition at St. John on March 6.
