Junior High Boys hoops ended its shortened season with a loss for the varsity, a win for the jayvees and a loss for the C Squad against Garfield-Palouse on April 1, reports Coach Bob Wolf.
"The Junior High boys team improved this season from top to bottom," Wolf commented. "We are very proud of how they have grown as players and young men."
The Varsity team had a cold night shooting the ball, Wolf said. They fought hard until the end but came up short 29-25. They finished up 4-1 on the shortened season.
Scoring: Jacob Reisinger 5, Jett Slusser 4, Gunner Magill 1, Boone Schmidt 7, Cesar Morfin 8. Also playing were Reggie Ott, Grayson Slaybaugh, Kyzer Herres, and Braxton McKeirnan.
The JV team went to overtime again with the Raiders but came away with a 19-16 victory this time around, finishing the season 4-1.
Individual scoring: Reggie Ott 3, Levi Bowen 10, Vinny Vecchio 2, Braxton McKeirnan 4. Also playing were Grayson Slaybaugh, Peyton Cannon, Greg Weatherspoon and Ivan Weatherspoon.
The C team scored more than they have all season but came up short in a 22-16 loss. Team finished 0-3.
Individual scoring: Kole Zimmerman 2, Lucian Setzer 2, Michael DeBord 4, Ismael Arteaga 2, Tyler Matheny 6. Also playing were Michael Thorson, Cayle Mullins, Eli Elwell, and Sam Wolf.
Pomeroy A 48, Gar-Pal 45 3OT (3/30)
The Varsity team started slow and turned the ball over too many times in the first half, Wolf said. "After trailing 24-10 at halftime, they fought back to claim a 48-45 win in triple overtime.
"Boone Schmidt, Kyzer Herres and Gunner Magill worked hard inside the paint and on the boards in the second half to help secure the victory," he said.
Scoring: Kyzer Herres 8, Jett Slusser 16, Gunner Magill 4, Boone Schmidt 6, Cesar Morfin 14. Also playing were Reggie Ott, Grayson Slaybaugh, and Jacob Reisinger.
Pomeroy JV 29, GP 16 (3/30)
The JV team avenged an OT loss last week by defeating GP 29-16.
Scoring: Grayson Slaybaugh 2, Levi Bowen 5, Vinny Vecchio 2, Braxton McKeirnan 18, Greg Weatherspoon 2. Also playing were Tyler Matheny, Peyton Cannon and Ivan Weatherspoon.
GP 14, Pomeroy C 11 (3/30)
The C team was able to score more points this week against Gar-Pal, but still came up short 14-11.
Scoring: Cayle Mullins 2, Sam Wolf 1, Kole Zimmerman 4, Michael DeBord 4. Also playing were Michael Thorson, Eli Elwell, Lucian Setzer and Ismael Arteaga.
Pomeroy 65, SJEL 43 (3/27)
The Varsity team came out hitting everything they put up in the first two quarters and never looked back. Jett Slusser and Cesar Morfin made 5 three pointers each in the 65-43 win.

Pomeroy B 25, SJEL 17 (3/27)
"The teams continue to work hard and gain experience," Wolf said.

Pomeroy 51, Colton 18 (3/25)
After a slow start, the Varsity downed Colton.

Pomeroy JV 20, Colton 18 (3/25)
Vinny Vecchio stole the inbounds pass with eight seconds remaining and dribbled the length of the court to lay it in for the win at the buzzer. The JV boys really worked hard for the win.
