POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) accepted the resignation of Garfield County Planning Commission Board Chairman Fred Zach at the weekly meeting on April 26.
After two and a half years on the Garfield County Planning Commission board, Chairman Fred Zach has tendered his resignation. Commissioner Justin Dixon extended his appreciation for his time stating “Fred will be missed.”
Road crews will be working on patch jobs for the rest of the week and then switch to crack sealing, Garfield County Public Works Road Maintenance Chief Rodney Norland announced. More patching may be done later in the summer, but the counties that loaned their equipment to our road crews need them back.
County Engineer Grant Morgan reported on a staff meeting held on April 23 to hear opinions and answer questions about the voice over internet phone system that is being planned. The feedback was positive and questions ranging from the billing technicalities to the operation of the phones were answered satisfactorily. The BOCC is waiting on a finalized quote before putting it to a vote.
An executive session was called for employee evaluation and possible litigation discussion. No decision was announced.
