Pomeroy Little League girls notch win

POMEROY––With only 5 practices under their belts and being a very young team, the Pomeroy Girls Softball team came together and pulled off a 22-16 win on Tuesday, April 20 against the Asotin County LL Kenzie’s Koffee.

Starting pitcher Molly Warren struck out two Asotin players in the first and second innings. Short work was made of the Asotin majors in the third inning, with pitcher Hollie Van Vogt getting the first out with a strike out and catcher Kendyll Potoshnik catching two foul tips.

Hits were by Kylee Wegrzyn 3, Reagan McKeirnan, Heather Hastings, Carolina Morfin 2, Tatum Jones, Molly Warren, Lilly Weatherspoon 2, Kendyll Potoshnik 3, Ella Ockwell, Hollie Van Vogt 2, Destinee Humphreys 2, Emory Moore, Jamie Thompson 2 and Abby Close 1.

“I am proud of these girls and look forward to watching them grow and learn as a team,” Coach Bandie Lockard said.
