POMEROY–The Port District of Garfield County announce a ribbon cutting ceremony for fiber optic internet will take place at the Port office on May 13 at 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Expected guests include Rep. Mary Dye, R-9, and Sen. Mark Schoesler. R-9. Fiber hookup supplies in the Port warehouse are being used at a quick pace.
Port Commissioners Larry Scoggin and Matt Herres will be running again for their positions in the August primary elections. Scoggin will be running for a six-year term and Herres for a two-year unexpired term.
Pataha Creek RV Park has around 20 RVs currently parked, with several reservations. Ten of the RVs are occupied by out-of-town workers employed by windfarms, Columbia Pulp, and the United States Forest Service.
Improvements to the Shepherd Field are still pending. No action is expected to be taken on the project until after the baseball season.
