Pataha Creek RV Park rate change will go into effect July 15

POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County Commissioners passed the Pataha Creek RV Park rate schedule Resolution 2021-4 at their meeting on June 15.

This resolution implements the rate schedule change for the Pataha Creek RV Park made by the Port commissioners on May 18. It removes the monthly rate to leave only daily and weekly rates and states a maximum stay of 30 days. The rate change will be effective on July 15, at which date counting toward maximum days will also begin. The resolution emphasizes Pataha Creek RV Park’s recreational status.

The Port commissioners also voted on a bid for the United States Forest Service building blinds from Skelton’s Carpet One Floor & Home in Lewiston, Idaho. The decision was to accept their bid temporarily. If installation has not happened within 45 days, the project will go out for bid again. This decision was made because they received a preliminary bid that could only guarantee the price for those 45 days. The bid is $13,769.61 for 42 windows. Blinds will include mini-blinds and vertical blinds.

Also discussed was how to give RV parks access to the new fiber internet. A meeting was scheduled for June 16 to discuss the issue with the internet service provider (ISP). Port Manager Diana Ruchert expressed her expectation to follow the ISP’s recommendation.

A grant application made through the Washington State Department of Commerce has received feedback. Maximum match funds will be $100,000, fitting within the $140,000 cap set by the Port commissioners on May 18. Manager Ruchert may be required to testify in Olympia. The date for the testimony is tentatively set for September 16. This grant is to extend the fiber internet to Pataha and to fill service gaps left in Pomeroy. If the grant process goes smoothly, the work may go out for bidding before the end of the year.
