Adderson-Berglund receives teacher award

PULLMAN–Becky Adderson has been selected as the 2022 Northeast Washington ESD 101 Regional Teacher of the year, a communication, innovation and leadership award.

The award is determined by a committee through a nomination followed by a written application, interviews, and a mock keynote. The teacher must have the respect of colleagues, be an expert in their field, collaborate with students and families, connect with stakeholders, and demonstrate leadership and innovations inside and outside the classroom. In addition to recognition for their exceptional service Adderson will now compete for OSPI's state award and receive a year of extensive leadership and advocacy training with other education leaders on a national level.

Adderson is a Special Education Teacher at Lincoln Middle School in Pullman, Wash., where she serves students with special needs in the 8th grade as Special Education Case Manager and Co-Teacher.

She is the youngest child of Keith and Shelley Berglund and granddaughter to Barbara Burt, residents of Pomeroy. She graduated from Pomeroy High School in 2008. Adderson was active in Basketball, Softball, and FFA where she participated in various activities such as: Public Speaking, Parliamentary Procedures, and showing pigs. She graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with a Bachelors in Education in Elementary and Special Education back in 2013 followed by a Masters' Degree from Concordia University in Advanced Study of Special Education in 2017.

Becky resides in Pullman with her husband, Graham Adderson and their two children, Andrea (Andy), age 8 and Corbin, age 4.
