POMEROY–After months of negotiation, the Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) signed a commercial lease agreement with the Richardson Family at its meeting on September 27. The agreement continues the arrangement that the county has had with the Richardson Family to use their radio tower for county radio needs.
The Pavement Preservation Project bids that were opened at the September 21 meeting have been reviewed and the project awarded to Poe Asphalt and Pavement. Their bid was $894,505.
The BOCC also signed a memorandum of agreement with Nez Perce County for juvenile services. This agreement is a long-standing annual contract. The memorandum creates a small increase in compensation for the services rendered.
The commissioners signed two consultant agreements with Don Brigham Plus Associates for zoning official work. One agreement is for basic zoning work, including answering questions that arise. The other is for large-scale zoning work for future construction projects.
Garfield County Sheriff Drew Hyer presented bids for a storage garage behind the courthouse. The BOCC decided to wait on any decision until a third bidder could be procured in accordance with the county Public Works policy.
The utility trailer the county rented for use at the 2021 Garfield County Fair has been optioned for sale. The commissioners voted to purchase it for the asking price of $525. The $200 rent payment will be included in the sale price.
The commissioners passed Resolution 2021-17, a renewal and update of the county's equal employment opportunity policy.
The Garfield County Employee's Group decided to scratch their July proposal to the commissioners and draft a new one in light of new medical insurance information. They will present their new proposal at the next regularly scheduled commissioners meeting.
