POMEROY––The Jr. High Pirate girls fell to St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 32-22 in the first game of the basketball season at home on September 20.
"I was very proud of the effort that these girls put forth and the fact that everyone contributed," said Coach Jennifer Maves. "For quite a few it was their first experience at organized basketball. They have a lot to learn but their desire and level of hustle is unbeatable. I'm looking forward to a fun season."
Pirate players who scored included: Holly Van Vogt 4, Reagan McKeirnan 2, Lilly Weatherspoon 2, Kendyll Potoshnik 2, Olivia Cooper 2, Carmen Fruh 4, Kylee Wegrzyn 2, Caroline McKeirnan 4s. Heather Hastings, Ariah Bingman, Sadie Klaveano, Carolina Morphin also played.
Due to lower numbers of girls eligible, we only had one game. The opponent was St. John/Endicott/Lacrosse.
