Volleyball schedule squeezes in double headers down the stretch

POMEROY––In eight days between Wednesday, October 20 and Thursday, October 28, the Lady Pirate Volleyball Team will shoe-horn in eight matches to finish the 2021 campaign which was upset by positive covid tests last week.

The Lady Pirates played at Oakesdale on October 20, recovering from their covid outbreak to get the season back on track earlier than reported last week.

Colton's Lady Wildcats visit Friday, Oct. 22 for a 6 p.m. match, and the Lady Buccaneers host the Nighthawks of Tekoa-Rosalia the next morning with a double header match, first serve at 11 a.m. A junior varsity game splits the two varsity matches, and the second match gets underway at 1:30 p.m.

Senior Night is the highlight of another double header on Tuesday, Oct. 26 in Pomeroy. The opening varsity match starts at 4 p.m., with a JV match against Clarkston in the middle, and another varsity match at 6:30 p.m.

The final regular-season match is on the road to St. John where the Lady Pirates will face the Lady Eagles in another double match, gametimes 4 and 6:30 p.m.

Southeast 1B District play begins Tuesday, November 2, at a time and location to be announced. Other district matches are set for November 4 and 6.
