POMEROY–Achievement awards and 4-H year pins were handed out in the individual clubs this year due to Covid-19 concerns. Leaders handed out pins and awards, returned record books and gave out the new 2021–22 record books.
Livestock judging awards, from the Garfield County Fair judging contest, were given to the top three judges in the 8-10 age division and the 11-13 age division. The monetary awards are sponsored by Dick Ledgerwood & Son, Inc, Ledgerwood Gelbvieh and Rafter C Reds.
Winners for the first, second and third place awards for the 8-10 junior division are Emeree Phelps, Giselle Morfin, Josh Hastings. In the 11-13 intermediate division are Jack Baser, Grayson Slaybaugh and Cayle Mullins.
Record Book awards, sponsored by Four Star Supply, were presented to the top two or three in each age division and categories.
Awards presented for the project books from first to third place are as follows: junior single project are Nataly McKeirnan, and Daphne Waldher; junior multi project, Myka Horal, Ladd Baser and Dutch Jones, and Kiara Marquez; intermediate single project Grayson Slaybaugh, Peyton Cannon and Kennedy Cannon. For intermediate multi project book winners, two took first place Conran Nelson and Jack Baser, second place Levi Bowen, and two winners for third place Tatum Jones and Molly Warren.
The senior single project book winner was Westelle Scoggin. Senior multi project book is Merritt Scoggin.
All 4-Hers were given a pin for their number of years in 4-H. There were 13 first year members, 12 second year members, nine third year members, seven fourth year members, eight fifth year members, one sixth, one seventh and one ninth year member receiving pins for completing the 2020–21 project year.
Leaders recognized for their volunteer service were Jamie Hames one year, Miranda Bowen two years, Elizabeth Cannon three years, Sara Lunsford three Years, Katie Magill three years, Tina Warren three, Kayla Slaybaugh seven, Jessica Nelson nine years, Laura Dixon 10 years, Sherry Ledgerwood 11 and Sheree Ledgerwood 32 years.
Active clubs for the 2020–21 4-H program year were, Creative Kids, Garfield County Livestock, Blue Ribbon Livestock, Pomeroy Country Kids, and Lucky Horseshoe.
