What a difference a week makes

POMEROY–The Pomeroy Gun Club members were blessed with better shooting conditions during the second week of the Camas Prairie Telephonic shoot, and better scores were the result.

The Junior shooters posted most of their scores on Saturday January 15. In the 12-year-old and younger

Division Carter Barron posted the best singles score with an 18 of 25 effort. Magnus Edwards was close behind with a score of 17.

In the Handicap effort Edwards posted an 18 for the top score in the Division.

Ollie Sievers paced the Sub Junior division with a 22 in singles, Mason Garcia shot a 21, and Gunner Magill managed a 20. Sievers also was the top Handicap shooter with a 20, Garcia and Magill had scores of 18.

In the Junior Division Troy Steele missed only two targets in the 16-yard event for a score of 23. In Handicap Brady Bott had the top score with a 21 and Steele managed a 20.

Buck Geiger posted the first 25 straight for the Club this year in the 16-yard event held on Sunday, January 16. Larry Bunch, Holly Ledgerwood, Clark Capwell and Wayne Tetrick all posted scores of 24 missing just one target. Mason Blachly and Jim Adams put up 23s.

In Handicap Mitch Ruchert had the top score of the Weekend with a 24. Buck Geiger, Matt Fitzgerald, Brian Bingman, Travis Ledgerwood, Clark Capwell, Wayne Tetrick, and Beau Blachly all posted scores of 22.

Geiger continued his hot shooting with a 24 in Continentals and Lee Blachly posted a 23. In Doubles Jim Adams had a 43, Geiger had a 42 and Larry Bunch posted a 41.

Fog drifted in and out of the shooting range during the day and by the luck of the draw some shooters were hampered by poor visibility.

After week one of the 24 Club competition, the Pomeroy junior shooters were in eighth place and the adults were in eighteenth place.

Shooting continues with week three this coming Saturday and Sunday.
