POMEROY–The Garfield County Fire District No. 1 board of commissioners discussed replacing the radio repeater at Dodge at their meeting on March 8. There is no estimate yet for the cost of it, and the repeater is planned to be placed in the same building as is being used now.
Fire Chief James Cleveland announced the new engine has more rust than was expected, although still functionally sound. The crew is running training exercises with it. The brush truck is in the designing process.
The board also discussed a power load option for the ambulances to mechanically load gurneys. Possible funding sources include an infrastructure grant.
