POMEROY–The local FFA Agronomy team competed in the State Contest in Pullman, Wash on March 23 where they place eighth.
Agronomy CDE participants competed in all facets of the agronomic industry, including crop and weed identification, commodity evaluation, identification of machinery, a general knowledge test, and integrated pest management which is comprised of both insects and disorders. Skills in soil identification and analysis including the ability to make sound managerial decisions are also put to the test. Students are challenged to work individually and with their team during this event.
The Pomeroy FFA team placed 8th at the state level. The team members are: Cayle Mullins, Michael Debord, Lucien Setzer, Carmen Fruh, Carolina Morfin, and Molly Warren.
