Health Department hires new program coordinator

POMEROY-The Garfield County Health District board introduced their new program coordinator, discussed the Summer Market program, and passed several resolutions at their meeting on May 16.

Chelsey Eaton has been hired as the District's program coordinator. She is experienced in public health services. Eaton presented the board with the Summer Market schedule, which is tentatively going to be on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at the Pomeroy City Park. Shelly Slaybaugh has been hired to manage it. Funding for the program is from the South Easter Washington Alliance for Health, which has granted $5,500 for salary and marketing materials.

Three resolutions were passed by the Health District. Resolution 2022-10 is an amendment to the District's tobacco prevention contract with the Ben Franklin Health District, which adds funding of $2,215. Resolution 2022-11 is amendment three to the Consolidated Contract with the Washington State Department of Health adding funding of $4,314. Resolution 2022-12 is amendment four to the Consolidated Contract, and adds funding of $342,668, as well as subtracting funding that has been returned to the Foundation of Public Health Services, which leaves the contract total at $1,773,005.
