POMEROY––District 9 baseball and fast-pitch softball coaches have named the "All Opponent" teams (formerly known as All League).
Pirate pitcher Trevin Kimble was one of two players who was a unanimous selection of District 9 coaches, according to Kyler Lovgren, Pirate Head Coach. "Trevin is a great baseball player and was a force on the mound for us," Lovgren commented. "Trevin is one of those guys that stands out in whatever position he is playing whether on the mound, behind the plate or playing the infield."
For the Lady Pirates, All Opponent selections as Honorable Mention were Keely Maves, Elizabeth Ruchert and Taylor Gilbert.
Pirate baseballers receiving Honorable Mention were Richie Vecchio and Trace Roberts. Vecchio's season batting average was .553 and he led the Pirates with 20 RBIs. "Richie worked day in day out on his hitting and it showed," Lovgren said. Roberts batted .248 and had an on-base percentage of .508. "Trace is a talented first baseman, but he also served as our Closer for much of the season finishing many games for us," Lovgren said.
