White signs to be an CSI Eagle

TWIN FALLS, IDAHO–Pomeroy High School Senior Braedyn White, has signed with the College of Southern Idaho Rodeo Team while earning an Ag Business degree on a full-ride scholarship for entry there next fall.

"The College of Southern Idaho Rodeo Team is very excited to have Braedyn White join us this fall on a full-ride scholarship," said Steve Birnie, CSI Rodeo Coach. "His character, work ethic, and drive to be the best he can be are all the traits we love to have in our rodeo student-athletes."

Some steer wrestling highlights for White in 2021 are as follows: 2021 Wash. State third Overall Steer Wrester; 2021 Wash. State High School Average Winner at State Finals; 2021 Qualified for National High School Finals Rodeo in Lincoln Nebraska; and 2021 Junior World Qualifier in Las Vegas NV-Top 45 steer wrestlers in the OTE Berry Junior World Rodeo Circuit qualify for the Junior World. He went to the Junior World at No. 25 in the standings; and 2021 Finished third overall in the Pro West Circuit in Steer Wrestling. This year, he has achieved the 2022 Junior Patriot Rodeo Qualifier in Fort Worth Texas-Finished third in the average out of 140 contestants; is currently in second place in Wash. State for Steer Wresters-State Finals is May 28-30 in Okanogan Wash. and also currently qualified for the 2022 National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette Wyoming, July 18- 22.

"White will be a valuable asset to the CSI Rodeo Program, both in the arena and out," said Birnie. "We feel he will be able to contribute immediately and help the team compete for another Rocky Mountain Regional Championship. White's strong academic foundation will help him achieve his goal of earning a degree in Ag–Business."

"Annually, the CSI Rodeo Team is one of the highest performing teams academically at CSI and White will contribute to that success as well," said Birnie. "He is the epitome of a Student-Athlete and we are looking forward to him becoming a CSI Golden Eagle."
