Kimble initiated as FFA president

POMEROY–The FFA Scholarship and Award banquet was held at the school cafeteria on June 2, 2022.

A full house came together to recognize the year's achievements and elect new FFA Chapter Officers for the coming year.

A potluck dinner located in the school cafeteria dining space was attended very well this year to support FFA members and recognize their achievements made through the year. "We had a full house for the FFA Banquet..." said FFA instructor and advisor Kyle Kimble. "It was great to see our members get recognized for their successes this year."

Eight State FFA Degrees were awarded at the state convention to Kendal Dixon, Trevin Kimble, Trent Gwinn, Colton Slaybaugh, Keegan Gerking, Nayely Larios, Keely Maves and Troy Steele. Kendal Dixon was a State Star Finalist in Placement.

Outstanding individual awards went to freshman Izzy Field, sophomore Stacia Bowen, junior Kendall Dixon and senior Troy Steele. The Advisor's Award went to Katie Boyer.

State team awards went to the Agronomy team for 8th place; Parliamentary Procedure took 8th; and Livestock Evaluation in 5th place.

The Alumni Scholarships were presented to seniors Trent Gwinn, Keegan Gerking, Elizabeth Ruchert, Nayely Larios, Troy Steele and Keely Maves. The Janine Ledgerwood Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Troy Steele and the Larry Wilson Memorial Scholarship went to Nayely Larios.

The election for the 2022-23 FFA Chapter Officers were held at the banquet naming Trevin Kimble as Chapter President; Kendal Dixon, Vice-President; Jillian Herres, Secretary; Katie Boyer, Treasurer; Chase Caruso, Reporter; Kaylee Schmidt, Sentinel; and Stacia Bowen, ASB Representative.
